Ok, so I saw this on Geoff Johns’ twitter account about a week ago (at the time of this post) and I have to say that it came to me as a complete surprise that they would be developing this as a series and without Justin Hartley (Green Arrow character from Smallville) in the lead roll put me on the floor.

But, this is a good thing. Without the baggage that the lineage of Smallville would levy on a show like this means that they can build a whole new take on the DCU in much the same way that Smallville did in the decade previous.

What can we expect from this show? I have no idea! I’m not all that inot Green Arrow and the bulk of what I know about the character comes from the aforementioned Smallville series, which I not going to bank anything on for values sake. What I would like to seen from this series is a whole lot less whining from the main character. Clark spent 10 seasons conflicted with what he thought his future should be about and overcoming too many personal shortcomings. I want a strong, confident character that dedicates to a cause and sees it through.

Now I haven’t read any of the Green Arrow cPictured here are Smallville incarnations of Black Canary (Alaina Huffman), Aquaman (Alan Ritchson), and Green Arrow (Justin Hartley)omics that were released for DC new 52 initiative  so I’m not going into this feeling like they should be true to the source material, I’m sure that there are more than a few diehard fans out there with their teeth clenched about this very issue, but if the Smallville era have taught me anything, it’s that productions such as this should be taken at their entertainment value and the interpretation is another facet of the character to be enjoyed, an Elseworldly incarnation that opens up the possibility of new opportunities for not only Green Arrow but other characters of the DCU as well. As long as there are shows like this around, the opportunities will only be greater as productions like this succeed.

If anyone is reading this, I would love to know what you think about the new show and what other characters you think would make a good translation to TV or film?

I just love talking to myself on my little whole on the internet! 😀

By this point, I think we’re about 6 episodes deep and this show does not disappoint. My wishes were fulfilled with the hopes of a strong characters depiction and I couldn’t be happier!

Big news in the coming episodes will feature the Huntress in a 2 parter, this after the inclusion of Deathstroke in episode 5! Very exciting! I’m a long time Huntress fan and I like that they’re using the Helena Bertinelly version of the chatacter as she was the first incarnation of the Huntress that I was exposed to!

Comic Vine reports that Jessica De Gouw is filling the roll of the character in this interpretation of the Huntress, (Not the first time on TV by the way) and if the handling of Green Arrow is any indication of how the character is going to be represented, I can’t wait!!! Entertainment Weekly had some interesting insight as well as a first look at De Gauw in costume and while I’m a little sad that she’s not wearing the cape, I cannot deny that she is looking freakin’ sweet here it the crossbow and the confidence!

The Huntress episode will air on Nov. 28 2012 for anyone who’s interested.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to watch Arrow you should really take a look. I’m compelled to check out the comic after watching this show just to see if there’s any resemblance to the publication!

    I love the show!

With me coming in as someone who knows very little about Green Arrow,

I find this show entertaining as hell.

I’m really enjoying it too, though I thought that the Huntress episodes weren’t really a good showing for her character.
