I’ve been getting some complaints about the style of the site. I know that it isn’t the greatest at the moment but it’s really where I want to take the overall site visually.
I’m asking you, who come here, to be patient about the slow progress of the development of the site. I have a particular purpose in mind for how I want to have my work displayed here and I feel that I’m close to getting what I want.
What is that you ask? If you look to the left and to the right of this column, you will see 2 strings of Images. The Image string on the left rotates random Images from my Gallery. The Image string on the right showcases the images that I last uploaded to the gallery. This feature works on an RSS sort of style from the gallery meaning that I can have these Images on every Page.
I’ve experienced success here, on Wordpress and with the Gallery section but I’m having a great deal of trouble with the Message Board.
Again, please be patient as I hope to have everything cleared up as soon as I can.
Comis2 Games and Blueline Art hosted a benefit for cancer this past month, asking illustrators, professional and ametures to contribute Sketch Card Art for Comics for Cure Relay for Life Benefit . I jumped at the opportunity to do this for a couple of reasons. One being that Cancer is topic that is close to a lot of people’s hearts, the disease has taken the lives of many great people in my family and is an unbearable process to watch as you stand by with little ability to aid the person suffering from the ailment. The other was being able to provide my ability to a good cause, something that I have never done before and something that I would like, very much to do again.
I had a lot of fun creating these images and sharing them with my board members and other communities on the web, using some of my favorite subject matter, Heroic females! These images earned me a place at the In-Store Exhibit, with such name talents as David Mack, David Michael Beck, Mike Maydak, Bill Nichols, Robert W Hickey, Sean Collins. Our own Ken Davis, made it to the Exhibition, so did Mez as well, with his daughter Cielo! Super Kudos and a big round of applause to them for their contributions!
A couple of these cards did really well, like the Wonder Woman and the Supergirl, and I was pleased to see that there was such interest in my work as well as the generous contributions to the bidding that so many were willing to make!
It was reported that the auction earned about $7,000 for the Charity. It was an honor to share in this experience and I look forward to participating again.
I want to apologize for the mini Blow-up in the last post. I haven’t given up on the site, I still have a lot of ambitions for this little place that I call home.
There has been an addition to the Message Board, the ability to post You Tube video. I know that this is no great achievement but it’s something that wasn’t there before so I thought that I would give it a shining welcome for all of you to use and abuse at will.
